AI disclosure on this platform

Using AI is not banned. Hiding it is. What writers declare, when, and what happens if it is concealed.

The rule

AI use is declared at two points in every job, on the terms the contract sets:

  1. 1Declare when you bid
  2. 2Declare again with every delivery
  3. 3The client checks it against the contract

Using AI is not prohibited. Presenting AI-generated work as if a person wrote it is.

What a writer declares

When bidding, the writer chooses one of these:

  • No AI used
  • Research only
  • Assisted drafting
  • Assisted editing
  • Other, disclosed

The declaration is not a box ticked and forgotten. It says what was used and for what: research and summarising, drafting, editing, or nothing at all. If the contract restricts AI use, the restriction applies, and the declaration is how the client checks it was kept.

Why it works this way

Clients are paying for accountability and judgement, and they differ:

Some clients…So the declaration lets them…
Are happy with AI-assisted research, but not AI draftingChoose a writer whose declared use fits
Do not mind either wayHire on the work alone
Are contractually unable to accept any AI useSet that limit in the contract, and check it at every delivery

None of them can act on a preference they were never given the information to use. The declaration gives it to them.
