Before you can bid
Add and verify your payout account on your payouts page. Bidding opens once it is verified. A bid you could not be paid for wastes your time and the client's, so the order is fixed: payout account first, then bids.
How a stage is paid
Every job is split into stages, each with its own price and its own delivery. Each stage goes through the same four steps:
- 1
The client funds the stage
With the payment partner, just before you start it.
- 2
You do the work
And deliver it through WBA.
- 3
The client approves
Or the review window in your agreement closes without a decision.
- 4
You are paid
The payment partner pays your share straight to your bank.
The payment partner is Pandascrow. Stages you have not reached are never charged to the client, and if the client wants changes to a delivery, they ask within the revision rounds your agreement sets before approving it.
What WBA takes
WBA earns a commission only when a stage is released, from both sides of the job:
| Who | What WBA takes | When |
|---|---|---|
| You, the writer | 10% down to 6%, a point less on every floor | When a stage is released |
| The client | A flat 10% on every floor | When a stage is released |
| Floor | WBA takes | You receive |
|---|---|---|
| Ground | 10% (₦50,000) | ₦450,000 |
| First | 9% (₦45,000) | ₦455,000 |
| Second | 8% (₦40,000) | ₦460,000 |
| Third | 7% (₦35,000) | ₦465,000 |
| Penthouse | 6% (₦30,000) | ₦470,000 |
The rate is fixed when the contract is accepted, and your take-home amount is shown to you before you accept, not after. See how writer floors work for how your rate falls as you climb.
Currency
Every amount is shown with its currency. Briefs are posted in naira (₦) for now, so what you see when you bid is what you are paid, before commission.
If something goes wrong
- 1A dispute is about one stage. Only that stage's money is affected, because later stages have not been funded yet.
- 2Both of you see the same case record, so neither side argues from a version the other has not seen.
- 3WBA determines whether the stage's conditions were met, on the contract and the evidence submitted.
- 4WBA instructs the payment partner to release the stage to you, refund it to the client, or keep holding it while the matter is settled.
